A/N: This was a fun one to get pics for. They arrived at Granite Falls during the day so I had to wait for night to fall. I got some nice blooper pictures while waiting and I’ll be posting those soon after this 😀 Enjoy!

“Are you sure about this?”

I glanced over at Jackson who was scanning the tree line wearily. He didn’t look the least bit happy about being here and neither did Keith, but Mani looked pretty excited.

I slapped his shoulder and he jumped in surprise, wide eyes snapping to me. “Will you calm down? Nothing’s gonna happen.”

Keith glanced at me with a frown. “Isn’t that what they always say in movies right before everything goes to shit?”

“We’re not in a movie,” I rolled my eyes at him before approaching the trees. “This is real life. Stuff like that rarely happens in real life. Now, come on!”

A/N: While I did write this back in 2021, I’ve since added to it and revised a few things for this posting.

I squinted at the small window to my left, watching the tops of the trees swing back and forth because of the strong wind outside. It was mid-afternoon but the sun was nowhere to be found, hiding behind thick, grey clouds that dominated the sky. I found myself wondering if it was going to rain and the thought filled me with hope. The rain always made me feel at ease and I could really use that ease right now.

I shook my head, scolding myself for getting distracted from the task at hand before returning my attention to the legal pad in front of me. It was an ugly shade of yellow, contrasting with the blue ink of the pen I was using. I didn’t like it but it’s what was given to me and the guard sent me a dirty look when I asked for white paper or a black pen. I didn’t realize there was so much effort involved in the request, jeez.

♦ Family Ain’t Just Blood (MSSS)

  • Theme: Dinner
  • Challenge/Month: Monthly Simlit Short Story/October 2021
  • Genre: Friendship, family, fluff
  • Word/Picture Count: 800 words/15 pictures

A/N: This was written as a side story for my old legacy challenge and was posted on a different blog.

John felt his hands tremble as he set up the table outside, pushing the chairs in and lighting the citronella candle to keep the bugs at bay. He had never hosted a dinner party before and, though it was all people he held deep in his heart, he was worried. What if he did something that upset them and ruined the relationship between them? He shook his head to rid himself of these worries.

A/N: This was written as a side story for my old legacy challenge and was posted on a different blog.

John was sleeping peacefully for the first time in a while. The bed was warm and his back didn’t ache from the sharp springs. He was so comfortable that he didn’t want to move, but something kept nagging at him. What was it?

His eyes blinked open and, at first, he thought he had gone blind, causing him to sit up in a panic only to realize that he wasn’t blind, it was just pitch black in his room. Shaking his head at his silliness, he started to lie back down only to hear it – the same sound that had first tugged at his mind. Was that… crying?

♦ The Misadventures of J&J (Info & Toc)

♦ The Intro & Info;

The Misadventures of J&J is a short story series that I started back in June of 2021. The plan was to publish these short stories as a single book, but my hopes of that happening aren’t very high so I came up with the idea of using the Sims 4 to express these stories. I’ll be keeping any mention of S4 materials, such as locations or sims, out of these stories on the off chance I CAN one day publish these. All characters mentioned in this story are original unless otherwise stated.

Each story will have it’s own warnings if applicable but keep in mind that ALL of these stories feature explicit language.

I started writing this series on June 24th, 2021.
I started converting this series to the Sims 4 on March 21st, 2023.

These short stories were written using the daily prompts from Writers Write (you can sign up for the daily prompt emails here or view all of their prompts here.) I’ll be including the dates for each prompt used if you’d like to tackle them yourself!

I hope you enjoy this series 🙂 Please feel free to share your thoughts or concerns with me as it helps me improve my writing and the way I present my simlit. You also don’t have to be a fan of the Sims 4 in order to enjoy these stories!
